Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window

A plane carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the plane's windshield, according to an announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.

"The plane landed based on standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, including Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer stated in a social media post.

The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the city of Brussels during the flight.

This incident does not mark the first time that a American defense plane ferrying a senior official has suffered mechanical issues.

Months ago, a US Air Force plane carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to return to the US capital after encountering a mechanical fault.
