The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

David Walliams

Best-selling writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the firm commented: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.

The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

He has published more than 40 books altogether, including a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
